We’ve put together the following tips for shoe storage. Hopefully this will give you some ideas. We’ll get you started thinking about ways you can optimally store your shoes in your closet.
Shoe Storage Tips
Decide how much of your closet you would like to devote to shoe storage. If you dedicate too much storage to shoes, you may not have room for other items. Maybe it’s time to go through your shoes, separating out the ones that don’t fit anymore, ones that are damaged and need repair or cleaning, and ones that you no longer wear. Perhaps the dress code at work is more relaxed now, and you don’t need as many pairs of work shoes as before.
Make sure shoes are stored so that you can easily see them, such as on shelves that are not far from eye level. If you store them in boxes, it’s a good idea to label the box, or choose clear boxes. Shoes that are stored on the floor of the closet beneath hanging clothes are not able to be spotted easily. A nice, organized system will keep your shoes from being damaged. Sometimes when shoes are stacked or kept in a pile, they get marks on them from the other shoes. They can also develop wrinkles that can’t be removed. Protect your investment and implement a shoe storage system that keep shoes separated and in good shape.
Some other ideas for shoe storage are over-the-door racks, under-the-bed shoe storage (for off-season shoes), shoe racks that hang from closet poles, shoe drawers, roll-out shoe shelves, and stackable bins.
