You have new closet systems installed in your closets and now they are nice-looking and well-organized. Here are some tips to make your closet even nicer. You’ll love your fresh clean closet!
Closets usually have no air flow, because they usually have no vents. No air flow means they can become stuffy and not smell fresh anymore. We’ve collected some tips that you can use to keep your new closets smelling fresh in addition to looking fantastic!
Freshness Tips:
- Spray a little perfume on cotton balls, allow them to dry, then put them in drawers.
- Used dryer sheets usually still have some scent remaining after going through the dryer. Tuck them in drawers or around clothes on the shelves.
- Essential oils are very popular now. They can be added to the final rinse cycle.
- Linen spray, potpourri, and scented sachets work too.
- Baking soda – there are deodorizing products available now with baking soda that come in boxes, pods and pucks.
- Make your own baking soda deodorizer with baking soda and essential oils.
- Make sure clothes are clean and thoroughly dry before storing in closet — dampness can create musty odors.
- Scented soaps wrapped in a sock – be careful of colored soaps as the dye may stain fabrics.
We hope these tips have inspired you to take a few minutes and keep your new closets smelling fresh and clean!
