Shelves and Cabinets Below

Time for a Fresh Look Around

It’s time to take a new look around your house for places that can use some custom closet shelving. For example, when I moved into my new house, all of the closets had some wire shelving installed, but many of the closets had empty space up above the door frame. In one of the closets, I had custom shelves installed up high, around the perimeter, and that became storage for photo albums. The high-up space in another closet became storage for beach towels. which previously had taken up valuable space in the linen closet. The beach towels are only used for a couple months each year. so moving them into the top area freed up space for items I use weekly. It does require a small step stool to reach these high-up spots, but it’s worth it!

So, take a walk around and inspect your closets and other spaces for potential storage. Or, during your free closet installation appointment/consult, ask the designer to walk around with you to suggest ideas.

Kitchen pantries and closets are a prime location for custom shelving. Could you use some shelves up high to store those infrequently-used items? Is there a small nook or corner that could be made useful by adding custom shelves?

Foyer closets are another possibility. How about some rows of short shelves at one end of the closet to store small items such as hats, gloves, backpacks, and off-season shoes or boots? Labeled boxes on high shelves could be used to organize infrequently-used items or holiday decor.

If storage is a challenge for you, take a new approach to your existing spaces and imagine new possibilities! We’re just one phone call away if you would like our assistance.
